Sacred Plant medicine Ceremony prep Protocol
In order to prepare for a plant medicine ceremony we need to prepare our body aka the vessel that will receive the medicine. We do this protocol to help ourselves receive the most out of the medicine and to to have the cleanest experience we can while on the medicine.
Please start this protocol at least 2 weeks in advance before our retreat. (You can start this protocol up to a month in advance for full detox effects)
DIETA PROTOCOL:
Plant-based diet with lots of fruit, vegetables, and whole grains (preparing most of your food yourself)
Omit all refined sugar intake and substitute honey or agave nectar in your
Omit all highly processed foods (prepared store bought meals, chips, candy, sweets, things with preservatives, etc.)
Omit all animal products (eggs, meat, dairy, etc—most importantly read meat and pork)
Reducing the amount of food your eating per meal to prepare yourself and your body for fasting on medicine days
Avoid spicy foods (chiles, hot sauce, etc)
Omit caffeine altogether (I know it’s tough…but caffeine being a stimulant needs to be omitted for at least 2 weeks prior so your nervous system can regulate and is ready to receive the medicine) Please try to omit it altogether, but if you must have some, the only ok’d caffeine source is Ceremonial Grade Matcha
Drink extra water
Abstain from sex at least one week prior to clear your vessel and energy field of any extra energy that is not yours
Omit any use of over-the-counter medications at least 1 week prior to retreat (allergy pills, naturopathy, Tylenol, Aspirin, etc…)
After clearing it with your doctors, please minimize or omit your prescribed medications 1 week prior to retreat (please talk to you doctor before omitting altogether to make sure you’re in the clear. If you cannot omit it, see if you can lower your dosage.)
The point of the dieta is to remove food distractions and to detox physically and energetically to prepare ourselves to lighten the body, mind, and Spirit, allowing us to become sensitive enough to receive the subtle connections to spirit and the spirit of the medicine. By following the Dieta protocol, you not only clear your mind, body, and nervous system, but you also detox your body both energetically and physically.
We will be fasting both mornings we are sitting with the medicine and breaking fast around 2pm with a big yummy spread. By making your meal portions a bit smaller leading up to the event, it will support your mornings that we’re fasting.
Each evening we’ll be having a warm and hearty plant-based meal with lots of grounding root vegetables and grains to help us land after our days of journeying and integration.
And on the morning of our last day, we’ll have a big pot of Matcha for your re-caffeination fix along with a filling and nutritious breakfast.
